British undercover agent led attack on Irish police at rally

An undercover British agent encouraged protesters to attack Irish police officers at an EU summit in Dublin, the Guardian newspaper has reported.
The undercover policeman Mark Kennedy did more than just observe and was an active participant in the proceedings, according to the newspaper.
The militant anti-capitalist protestors that were at the summit, which marked the accession of eastern European states to the union, are saying that Kennedy made visits to Dublin to help train protesters and encouraged other activists to attack the police, raising further questions about his role as an undercover officer and supports claims he acted as an agent provocateur.
Michael D Higgins of the Irish Labour party is demanding an explanation from Britain as to why one of its undercover policemen was operating in the republic.

Spanish youth rally in Madrid echoes Egypt protests
A big canvas roof was stretched across Puerta del Sol square, protesters brought mattresses and sleeping bags and volunteers distributed food.
The nature of the peaceful protest, including Twitter messages to alert supporters, echoed the pro-democracy rallies that revolutionised Egypt.
The Madrid protests began on Sunday.
On the first evening, police dispersed the protesters, but on Tuesday they let them stay overnight.
Spain’s 21.3% unemployment rate is the highest in the EU – a record 4.9 million are jobless, many of them young people.
Spanish media say the protesters are attacking the country’s political establishment with slogans such as “violence is earning 600 euros”, “if you don’t let us dream we won’t let you sleep” and “the guilty ones should pay for the crisis”.
The atmosphere in the square has been quite festive, with the crowd singing songs, playing games and debating.
They are demanding jobs, better living standards and a fairer system of democracy.
About 50 police officers are deployed in side-streets off the iconic square and outside the Madrid municipal government building.
The protesters are not identifying with any particular political party, Spanish media say, but they are getting more organised.
In another echo of the Cairo rallies that eventually forced President Hosni Mubarak from power in February, the Spanish protesters have set up citizens’ committees to handle communications, food, cleaning, protest actions and legal matters

Croatian police clashed with approximately 15-thousand anti-government protesters who rallied in the capital on Saturday, and state television reported that officers used tear gas to disperse the group. At least 25 people were injured. Dozens of mostly young demonstrators charged at a police cordon preventing them from reaching a central square in Zagreb where the government headquarters is located, Croatian television reported. The protesters threw stones and bricks at police, who responded with tear gas, the report said, adding that several people were injured and nearby windows were broken. Croatian broadcaster, RTL, also showed riot police striking anti-government protesters with their batons. Police set up metal fences to corral the crowd, the report added, describing the situation as “chaos.” Croatian police said they detained 60 protesters and that 12 police and 13 citizens were injured.

Police block violent protesters as students rally in Rome
Police vans and lines of officers in riot gear blocked access to much of Rome’s historic centre on Tuesday to keep thousands of student protesters from reaching parliament. The police blockades prevented several lines of marchers from converging on the square outside the Chamber of Deputies and blocked bus and tram routes. Riot police eventually followed closely behind the protesters on Via del Corso street causing the most violent group to disperse. Lawmakers in Italy on Tuesday will vote on a contested reform bill which many students and professors say will give the private sector too much involvement in the state university system. They claim funding cuts mean faculty positions are going unfilled.

Government Orders You Tube To Censor Protest Videos
In a frightening example of how the state is tightening its grip around the free Internet, it has emerged that You Tube is complying with thousands of requests from governments to censor and remove videos that show protests and other examples of citizens simply asserting their rights, while also deleting search terms by government mandate.
The latest example is You Tube’s compliance with a request from the British government to censor footage of the British Constitution Group’s Lawful Rebellion protest, during which they attempted to civilly arrest Judge Michael Peake at Birkenhead county court.
Peake was ruling on a case involving Roger Hayes, former member of UKIP, who has refused to pay council tax, both as a protest against the government’s treasonous activities in sacrificing Britain to globalist interests and as a result of Hayes clearly proving that council tax is illegal.
Hayes has embarked on an effort to legally prove that the enforced collection of council tax by government is unlawful because no contract has been agreed between the individual and the state. His argument is based on the sound legal principle that just like the council, Hayes can represent himself as a third party in court and that “Roger Hayes” is a corporation and must be treated as one in the eyes of the law.
The British government doesn’t want this kind of information going viral in the public domain because it is scared stiff of a repeat of the infamous poll tax riots of 1990, a massive tax revolt in the UK that forced the Thatcher government to scrap the poll tax altogether because of mass civil disobedience and refusal to pay.
When viewers in the UK attempt to watch videos of the protest, they are met with the message, “This content is not available in your country due to a government removal request.”

As Afghanistan Rises in Revolt, America Sinks Further into Grave of Empires

Thousands of Afghans have taken to the streets for the second day in northwestern Afghanistan to protest the killing of four people in a night raid by NATO forces this month. While many residents of the city of Taloqan (in addition to the local police force) claim that those killed were innocent, NATO has maintained that they were armed rebels. So far, protesters have stormed a military base and burned a police station.
Echoed by the media, Western forces have claimed that the protests have been infiltrated and hijacked by members of the Taliban. Whether this is true is dubious, and no proof has been provided. The smear of Taliban infiltration is used to de-legitimize the protest itself. The reality is that Afghan anger at the occupation of their country runs deep enough that thousands were willing to turn out two days in a row to protest the killings.
Protests in Afghanistan are frequent – just a few days before there was a protest in Nargahar province after a fifteen year old boy was shot to death in a housing raid. Last month saw tens of thousands of people demonstrate against the burning of the Qur’an by Florida pastor Terry Jones over five days. During these and many other protests there were vocal anti-occupation slogans and attacks on UN forces, soldiers and police.
Public anger in Afghanistan will be the death of the occupation, since it is public anger – over the murder of civilians, over the obliteration of villages by US air power, over the occupation itself – that drives the insurgency.
The United States is not winning the battle for “hearts and minds,” that much is clear. In addition, the hearts and minds of the military occupying Afghanistan are being lost as well. The psychological and physical damages of the occupation and Obama’s troop surge are deep: soldiers facing mental health problems are at an all-time high – around twenty percent, and around eighty percent have seen a friend die in combat. The toll on soldiers is grim, and those who survive carry physical and mental wounds through multiple tours and back home.
The insurgency, at the head of which is the Taliban, is winning, yet the US has spent $141 million dollars on a failed effort to bribe militants into laying down their weapons. Even Britain, America’s ever-obedient partner, has started to move towards withdrawing troops, though the US is doing its best to stop this. As the Taliban’s spring offensive heats up, we will see more of the same: more killings by NATO, more riots, and the US sinking deeper into the grave of empires.

“Day of Rage” in Iraq: 23 Killed by Government
Obama has not condemned the Nouri al-Maliki regime in Iraq for killing at least 23 people during the country’s “Day of Rage” on Friday. Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links
Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.
Mr al-Hasidi admitted he had earlier fought against ‘the foreign invasion’ in Afghanistan
Mr al-Hasidi insisted his fighters “are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” but added that the “members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader”.
Mr al-Hasidi was a member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, or LIFG, which killed dozens of Libyan troops in guerrilla attacks around Derna and Benghazi in 1995 and 1996.
In 2007, documents captured by allied forces from the town of Sinjar, showed LIFG emmbers made up the second-largest cohort of foreign fighters in Iraq,after Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this month, al-Qaeda issued a call for supporters to back the Libyan rebellion, which it said would lead to the imposition of “the stage of Islam” in the country.
British Islamists have also backed the rebellion, with the former head of the banned al-Muhajiroun proclaiming that the call for “Islam, the Shariah and jihad from Libya” had “shaken the enemies of Islam and the Muslims more than the tsunami that Allah sent against their friends, the Japanese”.

Tarhouni, who teaches economics and finance at the University of Washington, was appointed to the post by the rebels’ national council as part of an interim administration headed by another U.S.-educated academic, Mahmoud Jibril.
Tarhouni, who received his doctorate in finance and economics from Michigan State University, left Libya first in 1973 and then three years later for good. He returned to the country only after the rebellion against Gadhafi started on Feb. 15.

Officials in Davao City will not forget. The suspicious blast took place during a wave of terror bombings across Mindanao as US and Philippine troops conducted anti-terror exercises. President Arroyo threatened to declare a state of emergency and demanded that lawmakers rush through her tough new anti-terror bill. Rush it through they did.

A terrorist cell busted in Yemen last month after a suicide attack on the US embassy there had links with an Israeli intelligence agency, the state-run Saba news agency reported.The report, quoting an unnamed source, said investigations and data retrieved from a computer seized from the cell, showed there was correspondence between the Islamic Jihad group’s deputy leader Bassam Abdullah Fadhel Al-Haidari and an Israeli intelligence agency. Saba quoted the source as saying that the correspondence between the two sides included a request from the Israeli side to implement terrorist attacks inside Yemen.
Well now the Yemeni authorities have arrested a group of these al Qaeda-backed militants with, surprise surprise, links to Israeli intelligence.
