Legalizing Drugs Decreases Use – Proof In Portugal, Netherlands
The war on drugs has produced MORE DRUGS and a reduction in civil liberties, coincidently this is exactly what is happening with TWAT (The War Against Terror) A good result for AUTHORITARIAN REGIMES but NOT for FREE libertarian societies.
This 1999 documentary from Dutch TV explains how the “War on Drugs” has led to a loss of civil liberties while at the same time it has become a cash generator for police departments (through asset seizure) and a source of prisoners needed by the growing, privatized “Prison Industrial Complex”. However, it has not had much of an effect at all as far as its supposed purpose of eliminating or, at least significantly reducing, the illegal drug trade.
AS A LIBERTARIAN I BELIEVE IN EDUCATION NOT REGULATION
I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN AMERICA WHEN ALCOHOL WAS PROHIBATED. PEOPLE KEPT DRINKING IN PRIVATE AND CRIME EXPLODED
AS A PROUD SCOT ,I LIKE MY WHISKY .BUT I AM THE FIRST TO ADMIT IT CAN CAUSE VIOLENCE AND ILLNESS AND LOST WORK DAYS. ITS A LOT WORSE THAN WEED ,FOR EXAMPLE! BUT WE KNOW BANNING IT WOULD JUST MAKE THINGS WORSE.
WHAT CERTIFIABLE LOONEY THOUGHT THAT BANNING DRUGS WOULD STOP PEOPLE FROM TAKING DRUGS AND REDUCE CRIME?!!??…… I MEAN REALLY WHAT A f*CKING IDIOT AND CAN WE SUE THEM FOR ALL THE DAMAGE THEY HAVE DONE TO SOCIETY AND FOR THE LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE RUINED BY PRISON SENTENCES
IT WOULD BE PEOPLE LIKE ECONOMIC GENIUS FLASH GORDON BROWN. WHO WASTED A LOT OF PEOPLES TIME AND TAXPAYERS MONEY LOOKING INTO DRUG USE AND THEN DID THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF THIER FINDINGS.
Drugs adviser quits over David Nutt cannabis row
Les King resigns from drugs advisory council over government sacking of its head, but reports of second member’s resignation unconfirmed
A member of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs has resigned in protest at the government’s treatment of its head, who was forced to step down last week after saying that cannabis was less harmful than alcohol or nicotine.
SO GOVERNMENT DRUG POLICY IS JUST PERSONAL PREDUDICE WITH NO BASES IN REALITY!!
MEANWHILE IN THE REAL WORLD………
Portugal, which in 2001 became the first European country to officially abolish all criminal penalties for personal possession of drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine.
At the recommendation of a national commission charged with addressing Portugal’s drug problem, jail time was replaced with the offer of therapy. The argument was that the fear of prison drives addicts underground and that incarceration is more expensive than treatment — so why not give drug addicts health services instead?
Portugal’s drug problem; the country had some of the highest levels of hard-drug use in Europe. But the recently released results of a report commissioned by the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, suggest otherwise.
The paper, published by Cato in April, found that in the five years after personal possession was decriminalized, illegal drug use among teens in Portugal declined and rates of new HIV infections caused by sharing of dirty needles dropped, while the number of people seeking treatment for drug addiction more than doubled.
“Judging by every metric, decriminalization in Portugal has been a resounding success,” says Glenn Greenwald, an attorney, author and fluent Portuguese speaker, who conducted the research. “It has enabled the Portuguese government to manage and control the drug problem far better than virtually every other Western country does.”
Compared to the European Union and the U.S., Portugal’s drug use numbers are impressive. Following decriminalization, Portugal had the lowest rate of lifetime marijuana use in people over 15 in the E.U.: 10%. The most comparable figure in America is in people over 12: 39.8%. Proportionally, more Americans have used cocaine than Portuguese have used marijuana.
MEANWHILE IN AMERICA……….
AMERICANS GET THIER INFORMATION FROM PEOPLE LIKE BILL O REILLY AT FOX NEWS.

AT LEAST THE FOXY BLONDS HAVE AN EXCUSE OF BEING BLOND, AND SHOULD JUST GIVE UP INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM AND CONCENTRATE ON HAVING MORE FUN….BLONDS ARE GOOD AT THAT!!
The Truth About Amsterdam, RE: Bill O’Reilly loves Amsterdam
Most people know that the Fox channel isnt the most objective news source on American TV. But in a pretty recent broadcast Amsterdam is so falsely portrayed as a city of crime, drugs and anarchy, that I had to show the facts.

AS SOMEONE WHO SPENDS A LOT OF TIME IN AMSTERDAM, I CAN DEFINATELY SAY ,BILL YOU ARE FULL OF SHIT AND OBVIOUSLY HAVE NEVER SET FOOT IN AMSTERDAM! ITS SAFER THAN THE USA ANYDAY!!!
SO IN REALITY WHO PROFITS FROM DRUGS?…THE CIA AND BANKERS AND POLITIONS
Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera reported head of the Sinaloa cartel in Mexico, ranked 701st on Forbes’ yearly report of the wealthiest men alive, and worth an estimated $1 billion, today officially thanked United States politicians for making sure that drugs remain illegal. According to one of his closest confidants, he said, “I couldn’t have gotten so stinking rich without George Bush, George Bush Jr., Ronald Reagan, even El Presidente Obama, none of them have the cajones to stand up to all the big money that wants to keep this stuff illegal. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say, Gracias amigos, I owe my whole empire to you.”
BANKING ON DRUGS
Drug money saved banks in global crisis, claims UN advisor Drugs and crime chief says $352bn in criminal proceeds was effectively laundered by financial institutions
Antonio Maria Costa, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, said he has seen evidence that the proceeds of organised crime were “the only liquid investment capital” available to some banks on the brink of collapse last year. He said that a majority of the $352bn (£216bn) of drugs profits was absorbed into the economic system as a result.

“Afghan drug trafficking brings US $50 billion a year”
The US is not going to stop the production of drugs in Afghanistan as it covers the costs of their military presence there, says Gen. Mahmut Gareev, a former commander during the USSR’s operations in Afghanistan.
British officials are bracing themselves for the result of an annual UN poppy survey due later this summer. Early indications show an increase on Helmand’s 1999 record of 45,000 hectares (112,500 acres) and a near-doubling of last year’s crop.
“It’s going to be massive,” said one British drugs official. “My guess is it’s going to be the biggest ever.” UN, American and Afghan officials agreed.
“It could be over 50,000 hectares, or over 50% of the total [Aghan] crop,” said General Muhammad Daud, the deputy interior minister for counter-narcotics.
REMEMBER THE TALIBAN HAD STOPPED OPIUM PRODUCTION. HEROIN HAS ONLY RECENTLY BEEN MADE IN AFGHANISTAN ,AS THERE WAS NEVER SOMEWHERE TO REFINE THE OPIUM IN AFGHANISTN BEFORE THE US AND UK ARRIVED!!….ITS OUR HEROIN!!!!
THE WAR ON DRUGS IS OVER ,GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
Argentina and Mexico have taken significant steps towards decriminalising drugs amid a growing Latin American backlash against the US-sponsored “war on drugs”.
Argentina’s supreme court has ruled it unconstitutional to punish people for using marijuana for personal consumption, an eagerly awaited judgment that gave the government the green light to push for further liberalisation.
It followed Mexico’s decision to stop prosecuting people for possession of relatively small quantities of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs. Instead, they will be referred to clinics and treated as patients, not criminals.
Brazil and Ecuador are also considering partial decriminalisation as part of a regional swing away from a decades-old policy of crackdowns still favoured by Washington.
“The tide is clearly turning. The ‘war on drugs’ strategy has failed,” Fernando Henrique Cardoso, a former Brazilian president, told the Guardian. Earlier this year, he and two former presidents of Colombia and Mexico published a landmark report calling for a new departure.
Chavez said Venezuela would support Morales’s crusade to protect coca crops against US eradication campaigns aimed at stopping cocaine production. Addressing his Bolivian counterpart, he said: “Evo, we know this battle is hard, you can always count on our support for that battle here, in the United Nations, in the Organisation of American States, and in the world to defend the coca farmers, who are being demonised.”
AMERICANS AND EUROPEANS DRINK COCA LEAVES EVERYDAY – COKE ITS THE REAL THING!!!
When the cocaine business went south (geographically as well as metaphorically), Coke pulled the cocaine out of the formula – although they still use coca leaves today to flavour the drink. In fact, they own a pharmaceutical company called Stepan Chemicals in Chicago, whose primary purpose is to take the cocaine out of the coca.
“whose primary purpose is to take the cocaine out of the coca.”ISN’T THIS JUST A COCAINE FACTORY?!!?
WE WANT TO BAN KILLER DRUGS….THEN BAN BIG PHARMA, ITS DRUGS ARE THE BIGGEST KILLER IN AMERICA
The terms iatrogenesis and iatrogenic artifact refer to inadvertent adverse effects or complications caused by or resulting from medical treatment or advice. Iatrogenesis is a major phenomenon, and a severe risk to patients. A study carried out in 1981 more than one-third of illnesses of patients in a university hospital were iatrogenic, nearly one in ten were considered major, and in 2% of the patients, the iatrogenic disorder ended in death. Complications were most strongly associated with exposure to drugs and medications
The total number of iatrogenic deaths shown in the following table is 783,936. It is evident that the American medical system is the leading cause of death and injury in the United States. Death by Medicine—-Carolyn Dean, MD, ND, Martin Feldman, MD, Gary Null, PhD, Debora Rasio, MD (2003/4)
Death by Medicine – According to a review study, more deaths are caused annually in the U.S. by medical treatment and diagnostic procedures than by heart disease or cancer.
MAYBE WE SHOULD STOP FIGHTING WARS OVER THE RIGHTS TOO ILLEGAL DRUGS
Russian Military Oligarch Accuses the CIA and MI-6 of Flooding Russia with Drugs
There have been reports in mass media about the involvement of the U.S. military in Afghanistan in drug trafficking. I asked the well-known political scientist and specialist on organized crime Vladimir Filin to comment on this.
-Vladimir Ilyich, is it true that Americans are involved in drug business?
-Yes, they are in ideal situation for this. They control the Bagram airfield from where the Air Force transport planes fly to a U.S. military base in Germany. In the last two years this base became the largest transit hub for moving Afghan heroin to other US bases and installations in Europe. Much of it goes to Kosovo in the former Yugoslavia. From there the Kosovo Albanian mafia moves heroin back to Germany and other EU countries
THIS IS NOTHING NEW .THE BRITISH WENT TO WAR WITH CHINA FOR THE RIGHT TO SELL OPIUM TO THE CHINESE!!!
The Opium Wars (), also known as the Anglo-Chinese Wars, were the climax of trade disputes and diplomatic difficulties between China under the Qing Dynasty and the British Empire after China sought to restrict British opium traffickers. It consisted of the First Opium War from 1839 to 1842 and the Second Opium War from 1856 to 1860.
Opium was smuggled by merchants from British India into China in defiance of Chinese prohibition laws. Open warfare between Britain and China broke out in 1839. Further disputes over the treatment of British merchants in Chinese ports resulted in the Second Opium War
IT IS OBVIOUSLY JUST A CONINCIDENCE THAT SINCE THE WAR ON DRUGS HAS STARTED THE AMOUNT OF DRUGS COMING OUT OF THE AREAS THE CIA ARE IN, INCREASED DRASTICALLY!!!! …..SO EITHER THEY ARE THE MOST INCOMPITANT ANTI-DRUG FORCE IN HISTORY OR THEY ARE THE DRUG LORDS
WE HAVE TO END THIS MURDEROUS HYPOCRACY TODAY!!
IMHO People that have had thier lives ruined by prison for smoking weed ,by other people that drink alcohol or smoke tobacco. Should have the right to sue those people for damages.
Alcohol and tobacco are worse than marijuana and banning these things is “arbitrery” or personal predudice NOT JUSTIFIABLE IN ANYWAY. If we ban marijuana then tobacco and alcohol should also be banned , BUT ACTUALLY THERE ARE MORE COFFEESHOP “POTSHOPS” IN AMERICA TODAY THAN AMSTERDAM AS THERE IS SO MUCH EVIDENCE OF MARIJUANA MEDICINAL PROPERTIES, AND UNLIKE ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO ,ITS NON-TOXIC!! BUT ALL DRUGS NEED TO BE LEGALISED ,WE NEED TO EDUCATE NOT REGULATE!
MOST DRUGS ARE NO WORSE THAN ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO AND ONLY BANNED FOR BIG BUSINESS PROFITS AND TO PROVIDE PRIVATE PRISON WORK FORCES AND POLICE FORCE ASSET SEIZURES AND ALSO THE BIG BROTHER GOVERNMENT CAN ARREST YOU IF YOU PISS THEM OFF!
YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE ON DRUGS TO THINK PROHIBITION WOULD WORK
