ECONOMICS : A CLANDESTINE RELIGION MASQUERADING AS A SCIENCE
Economics is the religion of materialism!
Since 1996 the American Monetary Institute’s mission has been to independently study monetary history, theory and reform; emphasis on independent. For whatever reason, the universities have not made substantial progress in this area. They are unable to challenge the banking establishment.
Monetary systems are concerned with the larger questions of economic justice – not just how the money system is operating but with how it could and should be operating. These are called macro-economic questions and better economists are realizing that their economics is devoid of good ideas – theories, they call them – on the really big questions.
There is also growing awareness that we are all being targeted in economic warfare – all of us – your children and parents, friends, neighbors; since we can’t escape this struggle we’d better understand, and learn how to win.
This war is real and becomes more obvious in different ways every day. Not about the latest bush family misadventure in Iraq. I am referring to the deeper struggle over the direction of mankind that is more religious in nature. Not the fights with the religious right wing now threatening America’s political process. Those are real problems, but now we focus on a more fundamental battle with the new clandestine religion known as “economics”!
A year ago, Zbignieuw Brezinski, Carter’s National Security Advisor said the attempt to establish a new world order was doomed to failure because there was no universal religious underpinning to it as existed in the old world order – the Roman empire, with its emperor worship and later its Christianity. CHRISTIANITY(AS IS ALL VERSIONS OF ABRAHAMIC MONOTHEISM) ITSELF WAS A POLITICAL INVENTION. INVENTED BY THE ROMAN EMPEROR CONSTANTINE THE GREAT TO UNITE HIS RE-UNITED ROMAN EMPIRE AND END RELIGIOUS SWABBLES AND CONTROL HEARTS AND MINDS
Brezinski was probably right that it would fail, but overlooked that this new order does have a universal religious belief system called Economics. It has its own god, the Market; its own priesthood of Economists; its temples, Banks, until recently clothed in ancient temple architecture.
An example of the religious nature of economics is its promotion of market as god. We are warned:
Don’t try to legislate on the market; it is stronger than our puny laws. It is omnipotent
Don’ try to regulate outcomes, the market with input from all of its participants always knows best. It is omniscient
Do the right things and the market will reward you, the wrong things and you’ll be punished. It is beneficent
Omnipotence, omniscience and beneficence are the attributes of a god, not a mere device for buying, selling and exchanging. – A strange deity that abhors morality and where even the most atheistic libertarians have been suckered into believing in the market’s “invisible hands” like multiple Holy Ghosts.

BONUSES ARE SEEN AS SACRISANCT
PLEASE LOOK AT THE DISASTEROUS RESULTS OF THE BONUS DRIVEN PERFORMANCE OF THE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY ,BUT SOMEHOW THE RELIGIOUS RITUAL OF BONUS PAYMENTS CONTINUES. EVEN WHEN ALL THE REAL EVIDENCE POINTS TO IT BEING THE BIG PROBLEMS!!!
BONUS culture has come under intense scrutiny since the ongoing financial crisis began in 2007. Many people have been outraged by the way some bankers and top executives seem to have been rewarded for failure. Others find the idea of multimillion-dollar bonuses morally abhorrent. Even US President Barack Obama has gone as far as to call large bonuses “obscene”.
But few have asked whether performance-related bonuses really do boost performance.
“Economists and workplace consultants regard it as almost unquestioned dogma that people are motivated by rewards, so they don’t feel the need to test this” …”It has the status more of religious truth than scientific hypothesis”
Cash bonuses contributed to the financial crash,because traders had little motivation to ensure thier companies long term survival.
Stock-option bonues where blamed for the collapse of Enron and other corporate scandals.
“In many cases the top executives simply lied and cheated to make the stock price go up so they got huge bonuses” Edward Deci ,University of Rochester ,New York state.
Most bonus schemes are poorly designed says Malcolm Higgs of the School of Management at the University of Southhampton in the UK.

Yet as our feature shows, paying for results doesn’t always boost performance. In fact it can make it worse.
The problem runs far deeper than the practical difficulties of measuring performance and the ill will that such schemes can create. Contrary to what economists believe, offering rewards, particularly in jobs that people do for love as well as money, can actually undermine the motivation of workers.
