Megrahi’s lawyers to reveal ‘evidence of innocence’

Lawyers for the Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi are to release within days vital evidence they claim will clear him of involvement in the atrocity.

 The development came as Megrahi’s brother and doctors revealed the Libyan’s health had worsened, leaving him unable to speak from his hospital bed in Tripoli. Megrahi, who is terminally ill with prostate cancer, deteriorated as frantic efforts by campaigners were stepped up to examine evidence to shed new light on the 1988 bombing before he dies. His brother, Abdenasser al-Megrahi, said: “His condition has deteriorated rapidly. He is unable to speak to anyone. His situation is worrying. His temperature is at 39.5C. ”

 Megrahi’s Glasgow-based lawyer, Tony Kelly, who was in Tripoli last week, is to publish a detailed account of what had been planned to be used as part of the Libyan’s appeal. The appeal was abandoned days before his release from a Scottish jail on compassionate grounds last month.

It is believed there is no single document which would provide an alibi for Megrahi, but a mass of evidence that supports his case. Megrahi has insisted that he can prove he is innocent of the Pan Am bombing, and wants the evidence to be published. The Libyan government is also pressing for the documents to be made public.

The developments came as the Government was accused of “misleading” the family of Yvonne Fletcher – the policewoman killed by shots from the Libyan embassy in London during a protest in 1984 – over whether her killer could face justice in Britain. The Foreign Office has secretly agreed that any trial for the shooting will take place in Tripoli, according to a report in The Sunday Times.

This man was released so his appeal ,which would of released him anyway , did not take place, as this would show the DELIBERATE FRAMING by the UK and USA of an innocent man.

We know the CIA placed evidence on the scene , we know Scottish police officers gave false testamony! Case dismissed!!

SO WHO DID PLANT THE BOMB?

This 1999 documentary from Dutch TV explains how the “War on Drugs” has led to a loss of civil liberties while at the same time it has become a cash generator for police departments (through asset seizure) and a source of prisoners needed by the growing, privatized “Prison Industrial Complex”. However, it has not had much of an effect at all as far as its supposed purpose of eliminating or, at least significantly reducing, the illegal drug trade.

Indeed, opium production in Afghanistan — much of it in the regions where Canadian and British troops are supposed to be in charge — shot up dramatically last year.
The 49 per cent increase in the opium harvest, right under the noses of NATO forces, represented a doubling of the crop from 2000, when the fundamentalist Taliban were still in control, and solidified Afghanistan’s position as the chief supplier of illegal opium to the world.

The Afghanistan province being patrolled by British troops will produce at least one third of the world’s heroin this year, according to drug experts who are forecasting a harvest that is both a record for the country and embarrassing for the western funded war on narcotics.
British officials are bracing themselves for the result of an annual UN poppy survey due later this summer. Early indications show an increase on Helmand’s 1999 record of 45,000 hectares (112,500 acres) and a near-doubling of last year’s crop.
“It’s going to be massive,” said one British drugs official. “My guess is it’s going to be the biggest ever.” UN, American and Afghan officials agreed.
“It could be over 50,000 hectares, or over 50% of the total [Aghan] crop,” said General Muhammad Daud, the deputy interior minister for counter-narcotics.

SO this situation seems to be just to stop an appeal that would open a can of worms and point directly to the CIA and UK conspiracy to frame an innocent person. To release him now ,stops this appeal saves the CIA and UK from possible embarrasment and treason trials ,and the Mainstream media can keep claiming that this man is guilty and stir up anti muslim feelings amoungst the general public!
