Athens is the home of democracy. It fought the Spartans and thier rule of the 30 tyrants to setup a form of democracy that is still a shining example to us all.
Today politions talk Athens but act Spartan.
In fact its always been this way. Politions love power and social stability and have always admired the Spartan social model BUT they always talk about Athenian democracy ,Sparta’s arch enemy.
The Thirty Tyrants (Greek: οἱ τριάκοντα τύραννοι) were a pro-Spartan oligarchy installed in Athens after its defeat in the Peloponnesian War in 404 BC. Contemporary Athenians referred to them simply as “the oligarchy” or “the Thirty” (οἱ Τριάκοντα); the expression “Thirty Tyrants” is due to later historians. Its two leading members were Critias and Theramenes.
The Thirty severely reduced the rights of Athenian citizens. Imposing a limit on the number of citizens allowed to vote (limiting the franchise for example to the wealthiest citizens) was a standard move on the part of wealthy people who objected to being bossed around by the votes of the “rabble” in a broad-based democracy where all free adult males could vote. Participation in legal functions — which had previously been open to all Athenians — was restricted by the 30 to a select group of 500 persons. Only 3,000 Athenians were granted the right to carry weapons or receive a jury trial.
The Thirty Tyrants forced many Athenians into exile and threw their leaders into jail.
The Athenian social democracy was a Direct Democracy or Pure Democracy ,all citizens are allowed to voice thier opinion and vote on thier choice. The seat of power is an open forum where ANY CITIZEN can speak and EVERY CITIZEN gets a vote on EVERY POLITICAL DECISION,there are NO POLITICAL PARTIES as such. The ONLY DEMOCRACY I know of is Switzerland. All other nations social models are Spartan, basically there is a rule of 30 tyrants that the population get to choose, from a small pre-selected group. A choice of Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum as both options have the same backer.IN TRUTH an Elected Dictarorship. BUT your elected tyrant will tell you thats democracy!! Your elected tyrant is either a bare faced LIAR or he is very ignorant of what democracy is…..as he is supposed to be your “democratically” elected representative I would suggest a knowledge of what democracy actually is would be an advantage. Whatever he (or she) is , they are certainly NOT the brightest OR the best!!!
Direct democracy, classically termed pure democracy, is a form of democracy and a theory of civics in which sovereignty is lodged in the assembly of all citizens who choose to participate. Depending on the particular system, this assembly might pass executive motions, make laws, elect or dismiss officials, and conduct trials. Direct democracy stands in contrast to representative democracy, where sovereignty is exercised by a subset of the people, usually on the basis of election.
Let us have a look at how these “representative democracies” work and WHO they actually represent!
The Icelandic government was quite happy to force the Icelandic people to pay the debts owed by private bankers, thus representing banking interests British and Dutch banking interests. Of course the Icelandic people where NOT happy ,thankfully Iceland still has some good old fashioned Athenian Direct Democracy and the Icelandic Peoples Executive (The Icelandic population) called for a referendum!
IN THE UK WE STILL HAVE THE RULE OF THE 30 TYRANTS , NO REFERENDUM FOR US!!! The UK government is determined to represent banking interests.
The (Icelandic) referendum for or against taking over the Ice-save debts unconditionally by the Icelandic tax-payer has brought a clear “No” vote with 93.2% of those who voted, while participation of voters in the referendum was at 62,7%.
Publicly both the British government, as well as the IMF, seem to have mellowed in their rhetoric and ready for a compromise in their demands.
THE ICELANDIC GOVERNMENTS REACTION? The reaction of 30 Tyrants
In time there eventually were a few other voices to be heard on Icelandic media, but the government itself didn´t budge. No matter what reasonable and respected voices had to say on the matter. The government opposed the idea of a direct democratic decision.
Until the last minute the government had tried to discourage the voters from voting. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance both said they would not participate in the referendum. They saw it as a “waste of money” and a “farce”.
This disregard for the very people who had put them into office angered just about everybody who is the slightest bit interested in politics here.
WHY SUCH A RESPONSE FROM THE ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES?
The Icelandic referendum, the voice of the people against the blackmailing power of the international financial elites might now have become precedent for other countries in similar situations.
What the bankers seem to fear above all things is a direct democracy in financial matters.
And no doubt that´s quite a reasonable fear, for such a democracy would lead to more and more people getting informed about financial matters and the money-creation process itself.
The knowledge about this process coupled with the instruments of a direct democracy would lead eventually and without any doubt to a monetary reform and a loss of power for the international bankers.
The modern banking system manufactures money out of nothing. The process is perhaps the most astounding piece of sleight of hand that was ever invented. Banking was conceived in inequity and born in sin . . . Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them but leave them the power to create money, and, with a flick of a pen, they will create enough money to buy it back again . . . Take this great power away from them, and all great fortunes like mine will disappear, for then this would be a better and happier world to live in. . . . But, if you want to continue to be the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, then let bankers continue to create money and control credit.
– Sir Josiah Stamp, Director of the Bank of England, 1927
“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”
ONE DEBT SOLUTION ,THE ECUADOR MODEL ! ECUADOR DECLARED THE DEBT ILLEGAL!!
In November 2008, Ecuador became the first country to undertake an examination of the legitimacy and structure of its foreign debt. An independent debt audit commissioned by the government of Ecuador documented hundreds of allegations of irregularity, illegality, and illegitimacy in contracts of debt to predatory international lenders. The loans, according to the report, violated Ecuador’s domestic laws, US Securities and Exchange Commission regulations, and general principles of international law. Ecuador’s use of legitimacy as a legal argument for defaulting set a major precedent; indeed, the formation of a debt auditing commission sets a precedent.
ECUADOR IS ALSO SHOWING HOW TO DO REAL ENVIRONMENTALISM ,NOT CLIMATEGATE FAKE CARBON TAX ENVIRONMENALISM
In September 2008 Ecuador became the first country in the world to declare constitutional rights to nature, thus codifying a new system of environmental protection.
ARGENTINA HAS BEEN HERE BEFORE AND DIRECT DEMOCRACY RESCUED THEM FROM POSSIBLE FASICIST DICTATORSHIP!
After the non-violent collapse of the Argentinean government in 2001/2002, the social and economic organization of Argentina has undergone major changes, though how important these changes are remains to be seen. Worker occupations of factories and popular assemblies have both been seen functioning in Argentina, and both are the kind of action endorsed by anarchists: the first is a case of direct action and the latter a case of direct democracy. Approximately 200 “recovered” factories (fábricas recuperadas) are now self-managed and collectively owned by workers. In the large majority of them, pay is completely egalitarian; generally no professional managers are employed, or managers are collectively controlled in the other cases. These co-operatives have organised themselves into networks. Solidarity and support from external groups such as neighborhood assemblies and unemployed (piquetero) groups have often been important for the survival of these factories. Similar developments have taken place in Brazil and Uruguay. In 2004, Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein (author of No Logo) released the documentary The Take, which is about these events.
TODAY ARGENTINA HAS ECONOMICALLY GROWN AND HAS BECOME SOCIALLY LIBERATED ENDING THE FAKE WAR ON DRUGS
Argentina’s supreme court has ruled it unconstitutional to punish people for using marijuana for personal consumption, an eagerly awaited judgment that gave the government the green light to push for further liberalisation.
It followed Mexico’s decision to stop prosecuting people for possession of relatively small quantities of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs. Instead, they will be referred to clinics and treated as patients, not criminals.
Brazil and Ecuador are also considering partial decriminalisation as part of a regional swing away from a decades-old policy of crackdowns still favoured by Washington.
“The tide is clearly turning. The ‘war on drugs’ strategy has failed,” Fernando Henrique Cardoso, a former Brazilian president, told the Guardian. Earlier this year, he and two former presidents of Colombia and Mexico published a landmark report calling for a new departure.
Chavez said Venezuela would support Morales’s crusade to protect coca crops against US eradication campaigns aimed at stopping cocaine production. Addressing his Bolivian counterpart, he said: “Evo, we know this battle is hard, you can always count on our support for that battle here, in the United Nations, in the Organisation of American States, and in the world to defend the coca farmers, who are being demonised.”
When the cocaine business went south (geographically as well as metaphorically), Coke pulled the cocaine out of the formula – although they still use coca leaves today to flavour the drink. In fact, they own a pharmaceutical company called Stepan Chemicals in Chicago, whose primary purpose is to take the cocaine out of the coca.
WAR ON DRUGS IS AS FAKE AS (TWAT) THE WAR AGAINST TERROR
This 1999 documentary from Dutch TV explains how the “War on Drugs” has led to a loss of civil liberties while at the same time it has become a cash generator for police departments (through asset seizure) and a source of prisoners needed by the growing, privatized “Prison Industrial Complex”. However, it has not had much of an effect at all as far as its supposed purpose of eliminating or, at least significantly reducing, the illegal drug trade.
THE LAND OF THE FREE IS JUST ANOTHER LIE. THE US HAS THE HIGHEST PRISON POPULATION OF ALL TIME!!!
The high proportion of prisoners in some developed countries is from various causes, but the attitude toward drug-taking plays a considerable part.
Prison population per 100,000 inhabitants
United Statesof America 756
Russian Federation 611
New Zealand 186
United Kingdom 148
The US has historically the highest percentage of it population in jail .More than Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia or Apartide South Africa. But its very profitable for the Private Prison industry which provides cheap “slave” labour for big business, via its prison population.
SOME COUNTRIES HAVE ENDED THE WAR ON DRUGS
Portugal, which in 2001 became the first European country to officially abolish all criminal penalties for personal possession of drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine.
Portugal is being financially attacked right now by the bankers. As are Ireland and Greece and Spain, thePIGS , as bankers call them. Why are they so bothered about these countries? Its thier DEBT the bankers claim, BUT this is rubbish the UK and even just the state of California have bigger debts. It must be a conincidence that all nations have a LEFTWING LIBERTATIAN attitude to government. Italy ,which used to be a little piggy , but today is NOT . Italy used to be leftwing ,but today is NOT. COINCIDENCE?

FOR BIG GOVERNMENT AND BIG BUSINESS WAR IS A RACKET!!!
That is why they go to war with SOCIALIST countries with resourses, like Iraq or Yugoslavia . Iraq Ba’athist party is Arab Secular Socialism , Yugoslavia was run by the Socialist party, its was found INNOCENT OF GENOCIDE! NATO was supporting war crimes , including organ legging.
The real reason for War with Iran , Oil and the Israel Lobby.
THESE GUYS CALL THEMSELVES A REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY ,JUST WHO ARE THEY REPRESENTING IF NOT THE ICELANDIC AND BRITISH PEOPLE?
However, after everything that has gone on before, I wouldn´t even trust the Icelandic or British governments to tell us the correct time.
The British as well as the banking elites have in the past always followed two tactics at the same time. They smile and shake hands above board, and then kick those they deem weak and still not submissive enough below the table with spiked boots, while denying any responsibility for the harm they inflict. (Their spikes constitute either economic attacks or black-op intelligence operations)
THE UK GOVERNMENT USED ANTI-TERRORIST LAWS ON ICELANDIC BANKS (Remember our elected representatives promised us these laws would only be used on terrorists!!!!)
UK anti terror laws right move against Icelandic banks?
The Icelandic government has hired Lovells, a UK law firm to investigate whether London acted illegally and significantly and unnecessarily worsened the economic crisis already unfolding.
IN THE PAST THE UK DEMOCRATIC REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSE WAS TO SEND IN THE GUN BOATS!!!
The Icelandic Cod war
In 1972, Iceland unilaterally declared an Exclusive Economic Zone extending beyond its territorial waters, before announcing plans to reduce overfishing. It policed its quota system with the coast guard, leading to a series of net-cutting incidents with British trawlers that fished the areas. As a result, a fleet of Royal Naval warships and tug-boats were employed to act as a deterrent against any future harassment of British fishing crews by the Icelandic craft. The conflict involved several cases of vessels ramming each other.
The dispute ended in 1976 after Iceland threatened to close a major NATO base in retaliation for Britain’s deployment of naval vessels within the disputed 200 nautical mile (370 km) limit. The British government conceded, and agreed that after December 1 1976 British vessels would not fish within the previously disputed area
BUT THE ICELANDIC GOVERNMENT STILL SUPPORTS THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT AND BANKERS OVER THIER OWN POPULATION!!!!
THE ICELANDIC AND BRITISH GOVERNMENTS ARE DICTATORSHIPS THAT DO NOT REPRESENT THIER POPULATIONS!!
A LESSON FOR THE BRIGHTEST AND THE BEST. CAPITALISM EXPLAINED its not that difficul;t , so you see we do not need the brightest and the best.
1.Availability of credit allows money to flow between savers and borrowers.
2.Resources and funds are allocated to various projects or investments during a boom phase.
3.Eventually borrowing becomes excessive and leads to malinvestment,
4.At this stage, adherence to free market theory would allow for an efficient cleansing period and a healthy recovery period. How? Irresponsible and unprofitable businesses fail. Bad debts get liquidated. Excess resources go on sale, flow into more stable ventures and pool together with more profitable resources controlled by healthy corporations or entities
UK , Dutch and Icelandic banks found to be IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNPROFITABLE!!!!! Therefore they get liquidated and thier assets go on sale. Bankers go for re-education and find a new PRODUCTIVE job . May I suggest street sweepers as bankers seem to be used to handling large amounts of rubbish! No offence meant to the tireless individuals that keep our streets clean!

ANDREW JACKSON was the ONE president that cleared Americas debt ,when faced with financial ruin How did he manage it?
“The Bank is trying to kill me, but I shall kill it!”
ANDREW JACKSONS VIEW OF THE BANKS….NO BAILOUT.
“You are a nest of vipers and thieves, and by the grace of the almighty God, I will root you out!”
ANDREW JACKSON’S VIEW ON CORPORATIONS
Corporations have neither bodies to kick nor souls to damn.
ANDREW JACKSONS VIEW ON THE BRIGHTEST AND THE BEST
Hemans gallows ought to be the fate of all such ambitious men who would involve their country in civil wars, and all the evils in its train that they might reign & ride on its whirlwinds & direct the Storm– The free people of these United States have spoken, and consigned these wicked demagogues to their proper doom.
Some other views on this subject……
“Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value —- zero.” – Voltaire
“You have to choose between trusting to the natural stability of gold and the natural stability of the honesty and intelligence of the members of the Government. And, with due respect for these gentlemen, I advise you, as long as the Capitalist system lasts, to vote for gold.” – George Bernard Shaw
“Whether the mask is labeled Fascism, Democracy, or Dictatorship or the Proletariat, our great adversary remains the Apparatus-the bureaucracy, the police, the military…. No matter what the circumstances, the worst betrayal will always be to subordinate ourselves to this Apparatus, and to trample underfoot, in its service, all human values in ourselves and in others.”– The French worker philosopher Simone Weil,1945
“All government, of course, is against liberty. The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. Most people want security in this world, not liberty.”
“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out… without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. It doesn’t take a majority to make a rebellion; it takes only a few determined leaders and a sound cause.”
